Here is a beautiful painting that was inspired by a visit to the Governor's Western Retreat in Asheville.  I love the simplicity of this piece and have shared a number of pictures to give you some insight as to how I accomplish this beautiful painting.  Typically a piece of this scale will take 3 to 4 days to accomplish.  Much of that time is spent glazing the work with a series of thin washes to buildup the atmosphere and add depth.
